YetiBell's Adventure
YetiBell's Adventure is a platform adventure game where you play the role of a Yeti in search of a friend.
I have created many levels but I had never made a full game before - well, before this project that is. I created this project in Unreal4 using the Blueprint system and a lot of YouTube videos.
Before I began this project, I listed out all of the objects that I would be using for all of the levels. This helped scope the project and keep it at a reasonable scale for a single artist to achieve. I used simple materials so UV's were kept to a minimum. Models were low enough poly that most could use the visual meshes as collisions.
Each of the levels had two different elements - one plane where the gameplay is going on and a large 3D world that surrounds that gameplay area. I built ten levels and two loading screen levels for this project.
Each of the levels had two different Unreal animation 'sequences' in them that I did all of the keyframing for. This really turned out as one of my favorite new skills to learn - it was just so much fun animating the characters and bringing the story to life.
I have done various coding projects but I think this was one of the most involved logic excercises I have ever completed.
It was a lot of fun and quite challenging setting up all of the UI, the characters actions, the scoring system, the health system, lives, high score matrixes - so much stuff that goes into making a real game. I loved every minute of it

This is an example of how the Blueprint system is used to layout 'code' in a visual format - you can write code without knowing complex sintax
